I am starting a series on basics of Adobe Illustrator. This series is mainly focused on all beginners.
That means, even if you don't have any idea about Adobe Illustrator, you will get a complete knowledge about all the basics fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator and surely feel more confident after going through the following content.

I am going to tell you all the basic aspects of Adobe Illustrator which are very important to know before you dive right into designing.
1. How to create a new file:
Above is the image of home screen where you will get to see some menus and toolbars.
Let's discuss them one by one.
2. Basic tools of toolbar:
Here now will be discussing about the basic and most important tools of Adobe Illustrator which required for design any Illustrations or artworks.
a) Selection Tool:
Selection is mostly used for selecting objects, paths, anchor points, etc. And with the help of this tool you move, change size, and rotate the selected object.
Here is the view of Selection Tool;
b) Direct Selection Tool:
Direct Selection Tool is generally used for selecting a particular anchor point or path and multiple paths or anchor points which you want to select. With the help of this tool you can change the shape of any object.
There are other select options with direct selection tool like Group Selection Tool, Lasso Tool.
c) Pen Tool:
Pen Tool is used to draw different object, shapes, line, curves whichever you want to draw. This is one of the majorly used tool amongst all.
In the Pen Tool option we get other options like Add and Delete Anchor Point Tool with the help of these two we can add and delete any anchor point in our artwork. There is also an Anchor Point Tool which will help to move or shift a particular anchor point.
d) Curve Tool:
Curve Tool is used to draw curved lines or shapes according to your artwork as you need.
e) Rectangle Tool:
By using rectangle tool we draw rectangle of any size we want. Along with rectangle tool, we get other tools like ellipse tool, polygon tool, star tool, line segment tool. They are used to draw shapes as their name suggests.
f) Paint Brush Tool:
Paint Brush Tool is used to paint object it is just as similar we used in MS Paint.
And other tools along with Paintbrush Tool are Blob Brush Tool, Pencil Tool.
Pencil tool is also used to draw like pen tool.
g) Type Tool:
Type tool is used to add text in your design or artwork.
h) Rotate Tool:
As the name suggest, the rotate tool is used to rotate the object or shape.
j) Shape Builder Tool:
In this tool, we can shape and merge the objects in the artwork.
k) Gradient Tool:
The gradient tool is mainly used to give gradient color or effect to the desired shape.
l) Eyedropper Tool:
Eyedropper Tool is used to copy color and effects from other objects in the artwork.
These were some of the basic but most important tools we must know before start working on Adobe Illustrator.
